James LaMantia, Chairman for Gift of Life Long Island climbed Mount Marcy, the highest peak in New York State on August 14, 2018to save the lives of terminally ill children with the help of Gift of Life. It was his goal to hoist the Gift of Life Long Island banner on the summit and he did it at 5344 feet in elevation, it was a challenging climb to complete in one day. James goal was to raise $5344 in contributions. He did that and more with a contribution of $500 from Rotary Eclub of district 7255. His own club, The Rotary Club of Northport then matched with $5344 more. James used Go Fund Me, social media, the district bulletin and a variety of methods to get the word out. I'm so glad that Rotary Eclub D7255 could contribute for the sake of those children Gift Of Life is saving by providing life saving heart procedures all over the world for more than 25 years now. We celebrate James for his devotion, dedication, success and for his climbing skills too. Good work James, keep it up!
